Brief Overview of GIFT IFSC Ecosystem
GIFT City in Gujarat is India’s first operational smart city and hosts India’s first and only International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). It’s a hub for financial and IT companies from around the world, offering an ideal ecosystem for both local and international businesses. The IFSC at GIFT City enables onshore and offshore financial services and its mission is to offer cross-border financial products and services within a competitive tax environment.
At present, the GIFT IFSC is the maiden international financial services centre in India. As the dynamic nature of business in the IFSCs requires a high degree of inter-regulatory coordination within the financial sector, the IFSCA has been established as a unified regulator with a holistic vision in order to promote ease of doing business in IFSC and provide world class regulatory environment.

PFC Infra Finance IFSC Limited was incorporated on February 11, 2024 as wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation Limited. The Company received approval from International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) on October 10, 2024 to commence business as Finance Company in IFSC GIFT City Gujarat. PFC is the first Govt. NBFC which has established a subsidiary in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at GIFT City, Gujarat dedicated to Power and Infrastructure Lending in foreign currency. IFSC provides a unique platform to access global capital and expertise, which will enable your Company to provide even more efficient and innovative financing solutions to the clients. PFC’s entry into the IFSC shall open up new business opportunities and establish its global presence. This Company will focus on providing financial solutions for infrastructure projects across various sectors, including renewable energy.

● PFC Infra Finance IFSC Limited (PIFIL) provides short-, medium-, and long-term financing in freely convertible foreign currencies, primarily USD, to support infrastructure and power sector projects. Its financing spans power and other infrastructure, including generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as renewable energy, green hydrogen, energy storage, and other infrastructure segments.
The Company extends funding to both public and private sector borrowers, in India (through ECB route) and overseas, for greenfield and brownfield projects, including expansion and modernization initiatives, on both project and non-project bases.
● PIFIL also offers refinancing of existing infrastructure loans extended by banks or financial institutions to improve liquidity in the infrastructure financing ecosystem.
